Reading with Jenny Rubus
Her grandmother explained to anyone who wanted to know (or not) that she uses at least one ton of paper a year back in her primary school days. Once infected, the writing addiction never healed. Although paper consumption has decreased considerably thanks to digitization, the passion with which Jenny Rubus produces endless amounts of text in every free minute has not. When she’s not writing or working, you’ll most likely find her in the stable with her horse. Jenny Rubus lives with her husband and two cats in the beautiful Thuringian Forest.
“The curse of Düsterstein“
Ghosts, curses and a love that transcends even time
Sea against trees. Fish against dumplings. The move from Kiel to the Thuringian Forest causes a world to collapse for seventeen-year-old Ellie. Her family wants to convert the empty baroque castle “Düsterstein” into a hotel. But a mysterious power has objections. The ghost of the cursed Count Balthasar wreaks havoc within the walls – every previous owner of the castle has died.
But Balthasar is not the only one who cannot accept his own death. It soon becomes clear that, after almost four hundred years, Ellie is the one who must redeem the spirits and save her family from a tragic fate. And it doesn’t help that Ellie develops feelings for the aloof Count.
