Children’s book reading with Akram El-Bahay

Akram El-Bahay Akram El-Bahay works as a journalist and author. As the child of an Egyptian father and a German mother, he grew up with influences from two cultures. This is also reflected in his novels: classic fantasy stories about dragons and magic that are as much reminiscent of The Lord of the Rings as they are of oriental fairy tales. He was nominated for several literary awards with his first novel Flammenwüste, winning the Seraph fantasy literature award in the Best Debut category. (Source: wikipedia.de)

“FABULA”

“The tree under whose leaves Will and Charlotte had disappeared grew some more.
And below him, woven into his roots, something opened an eye. Sleepy. Dreaming.
It had heard a voice.
One that it had been waiting for.
One that had awakened it.”

On a school trip to Central Park, twins Will and Charlotte make an incredible discovery: buzzing around a tree with silver leaves is a small creature with almost transparent wings – an elf, as it soon turns out. When a fury appears at their home and the tree turns out to be a portal, the siblings follow the elf into the fantastic world of Fabula. But the home of the mythical creatures is in danger. And Charlotte and Will are the only ones who can save her. Because even in them slumber undreamt-of magical powers …

A sweeping fantasy tale about the power of storytelling by Akram El-Bahay.
