Laughter is guaranteed in Curt Goetz’s witty comedies with their sharp-tongued, pointed dialog.
“Lohengrin” – The two owners of a previously renowned company have speculated and are on the verge of bankruptcy unless an unexpected turn of events occurs at the last minute. They cannot hope for credit. But then something does happen, or rather someone does. This unexpected guest turns out to be a crook and makes the stunned partners a juicy proposition.
“The flying privy councillor” – In his practice, Mr. Medical Councillor is a colossal medical malpractice practitioner. His diagnoses are wrong with somnambulistic certainty, he recognizes a cancer as a cold, and vice versa, and as a result the mortality rate among his patients is quite high. Then one day, the mysterious Mr. Mors appears, a sinister little man with a stunning bad breath, a deal-maker of a special kind.
“The Fairy Tale” – Lord Henry is as rich as he is bored and feels quite lonely; he is fed up with the pleasures of high society. He lets himself be denied on the phone. He wants to know from his friend and lawyer whether he can give him a sensible reason not to shoot himself. Only an ominous prophecy gives him a tiny hope of the decisive kick in his life, but time is running out in a few hours….
There will be a break between the second and third piece.
