Helga Plankensteiner’s new project presents arrangements of compositions by Jelly Roll Morton, the “inventor of jazz”, for low woodwind and low brass in an original instrumentation and elicits completely new sounds from the almost hundred-year-old tunes with jazz, rock, funk and swing.
Jelly Roll has performed at numerous festivals including Lana Meets Jazz, All that Music Bozen, Brixen Jazz Day, Novara Jazz, Ivrea Jazz, le Rapalline Jazz Festival Albenga, Modena Jazz, Chiavari in Jazz, Inntöne Festival, Peitz Jazzfestival as well as in many jazz clubs.
