Benefit concert with Echoes of Change – Ilmenau choirs enter the second round
Echoes of Change project choir welcomes new members
After the successful kick-off 2025 in the Audimax of the Ilmenau University of Technology the project choir Echoes of Change continues its series of benefit concerts – and cordially invites you to the second round.
Do you enjoy singing and want to do something good at the same time? Then become part of the Echoes of Change project choir!
Under the direction of Markus Weyh, the project choir is planning a benefit concert on May 22, 2026 from 7:30 pm in the Audimax of the TU Ilmenau for the benefit of Engineers without borders e.V..
The project choir is supported by the choirs Querbeat (Ilmenau Music School) and DaChor (KuKo e.V.). People of different ages and backgrounds sing together here with great joy and passion. Singers from DaChor, Querbeat, the Rotkehlchen and various church choirs are already involved.
For the concert in May, a varied repertoire of German and international titles is being prepared, including, for example:
Miracles happen (Nena)
Sound of Silence (Simon & Garfunkel)
Sayari yetu ni nzuri (No beautiful country)
Sing along!
We are still looking for singers in all registers for the concert as well as interested parties who would like to take part in this project. Previous singing experience is not required, but is helpful.

The first rehearsal is on February 14, 2026 from 13:00 to approx. 17:30 in the EFG Güldene Pforte (Güldene Pforte 1).

About the DaChor
The DaChor is a group of amateur singers at the TU Ilmenau.
We rehearse once a week – Mondays from 17:00 to 18:30 in Mensa 3 (TU Ilmenau).
The choir sings a broad repertoire from various genres in SATB formation. The focus is on the joy of singing, community and friendly, open cooperation. Members can play an active role – be it in the selection of pieces, in solo parts or in organizational tasks.
In addition to regular rehearsals, the DaChor performs on various occasions, including at the Ilmenau Christmas market and other cultural events. Joint activities outside of rehearsals are also part of the program and ensure a lively, friendly club life.
