Musical open-air culture (MFK)

Musical open-air culture (MFK) has been bringing people together in the open air since 2014 – in special places in the middle of nature. What once began with a first event in Ilmenau has since developed into a lively movement that combines music, community and artistic forms of expression in public spaces.

Whether on meadows, by ponds or between trees – MFK creates temporary open spaces for musical experiences away from commercial formats. The aim is to create places where people can meet, linger, dance, listen and exchange ideas.

The musical open-air culture stands for conscious celebration, creative openness and cultural participation. It sees itself as an invitation to make the world a little freer, more colorful and more communal.
