ABOUT THE DONATION TARGET
The charity concert has the motto “Music for the future”. Together we would like to use the concert to raise free donations for Engineers without Borders e.V. with the concert. These donations can be used where they are currently most urgently needed and thus enable flexible support for various projects worldwide.
A particular focus is on the “Basic Services for Schools” program. With this program, Ingenieure ohne Grenzen e.V. is committed to improving educational conditions and thus supporting the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
Education plays a key role in equal opportunities and social development. It helps to combat poverty and hunger in the long term and improves prospects for health, the economy and social participation. The aim of the program is therefore to sustainably strengthen schools and educational institutions and provide basic infrastructure.
Selected projects will also be presented as part of the concert, including the Rising Star School projects and the Uganda project as examples of successful international cooperation.

ABOUT ENGINEERS WITHOUT BORDERS
Ingenieure ohne Grenzen e.V. is a non-profit and independent development cooperation organization. Together with its local partner organizations, it supports people in the Global South wherever technical cooperation is necessary and possible.
The work of Engineers Without Borders focuses on establishing a basic supply of water, electricity and sanitary facilities as well as building and expanding educational institutions. The organization also carries out educational work in Germany in the areas of STEM, global learning and integration.”

ABOUT ECHOES OF CHANGE
Project choir “Echoes of Change”
Music connects – between campus, city and generations
The Echoes of Change project choir brings together people from Ilmenau and the surrounding area – regardless of age, origin or previous musical experience. Students, teachers, citizens and singers from various choirs sing together here with great joy and passion.
Following the successful launch of the first Benefit Concert 2025 in the Audimax of the Ilmenau University of Technology the project choir is continuing its musical collaboration.
The project choir is supported by the two established choirs Querbeat of the Ilmenau Music School and DaChor of the KuKo e.V.. The project is also supported by singers from the Rotkehlchen and various church choirs. This creates a musical network that connects the city and the university in a special way.
Under the musical direction of Markus Weyh and Stefan Leistritz, the choir develops a varied repertoire of German and international titles – from modern pop songs to world music arrangements. The current program includes
- Miracles happen (Nena)
- Sound of Silence (Simon & Garfunkel)
- Sayari yetu ni nzuri(No beautiful country)
The project sees itself as a cultural bridge between the city, campus and different generations. The focus is on musical exchange, community involvement and the joy of singing together.
The participating choirs
DaChor
The DaChor of the KuKo e.V. unites singers of different ages and musical backgrounds. The repertoire ranges from modern pop and rock arrangements to international and seasonal pieces.
Rehearsals:
Mondays, 17:00 – approx. 18:30
- February & March: Helmholtz Lecture Hall, TU Ilmenau
- from April: Mensa Ehrenberg, TU Ilmenau

Querbeat
The Querbeat choir of the Ilmenau School of Music has stood for modern choral music with a varied program and great musical openness since 2004. Together with Echoes of Change, Querbeat brings people from the city and university together musically.
Rehearsals:
Tuesdays, 18:00 – approx. 19:30
(not during school vacations)
